Kuumba Lynx Gala is here!

It's that time of year again for the KL Annual Gala! On Friday, December 11, 2009 we are looking to host an Arts Explosion to highlight the best of our citywide student work. We are pleased to partner with The School of the Art Institute in this event and hope that you, your family and your friends can join us or make a contribution this year.

WHEN: December 11, 2009
WHERE: The school of the Art Institute-280 S. Columbus, Chicago IL

VIP PACKAGE $50 (includes 6pm reception/dinner, gift, ticket to show/exhibition)
GENERAL ADMISSION@ 7pm $25 (includes show/exhibit ticket only)
STUDENT RATE@7pm $15 (include show/exhibit ticket only)

We know that times have been rough all around and as you may already know, youth programming budgets in general are being cut across the board. But KL is still dedicated to offering quality interdisciplinary programming that promotes the positive aspects of Hip Hop culture, while simultaneously instilling in its youth artists the importance of taking a proactive role in their communities and the world. What: KL SO FRESH & SO GREEN Initiative presents Life is Living, an Eco empowerment Hip Hop fest celebrating life. The event begins with a "stop the violence" march down Wilson and Broadway. in collaboration with Brave new Voices International Youth Poetry Festival, YCA, The Chicago Park District, 46th Ward Alderman office, Chicago Hip Hop Initiative, Urban Gardens, Connect Force, Multicultural Youth Project, Little Black Pearl, Relate Skate, Chicago Botanical Gardens, Department of Youth and Family Services, COEDS, and the Hip Hop community.
